Hi everyone,
obviously there has been an extensive absence on my behalf and a severe update drought.
Progress essentially ground to a halt, sorry to say, a personal issues affected me and prevented me being able to spend time on development.
With JK’s encouragement and support i was able to keep up the motivation though and have managed to pull through the lull.
Expect to see some major progress coming as of now as LM and JK are back into the full swing of things (pun intended).
More details to emerge soon. Stay tuned.
PS: Thanks again to the undying support of the fans during the project’s darkest hour. We do notice!

ok guys, this is a sample vid of the new bowling action and run-up. posting this to tell ya that the game aint dead ! ;-)
take a look :-
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?21gmenwd5tz
a few warnings :-
- wicket keeper and fielders are untouched. so dont be shocked.
- the batsman is idle as its yet to be properly implemented in-game.
- the ball gets released a tad early before the hand comes into place.
this is because the release timing is matched for the previous action.
comment anything and everything on the bowling but please ignore the rest.
also, have attached the previous/old action so that you can judge
yourself how drastic the change is !
guys, sorry for the lack of updates…am crazy busy with a project submission which is extremely vital and i cannot afford to delay it nor present a sub-standard one..
LM on the other is busy with some personal stuff but hes expected to be fully back and with a bang with no distractions in the near future from next monday….
so….its gonna take some time for the new vid….
again, sorry for the delay…i know you guys are excited and eager but please bear with us for sometime….

I am currently working on the finishing touches to the new bowler runup stuff - we’re definately nearing completion on this, with massive improvements on the old animations. Ill be sure to let you all know once it is totally done. At the same time i am improving the camera following of the bowler as he runs in and also tweaking the bowling to increase the bounce slightly as it wasn’t quite right before.
In ither news the stadium makers are pushing on and doing some great work - check out the forums to see the latest developments.
JK is working tirelessly on batting animations, the new strokes in particular, so will be looking forward to a much deserved break from animating!

As you all know we have been working hard on the bowling and batting animations to get them looking more realistic and adding new stuff to add to the depth. The bowling runup was always a point of contention and was in drastic need of an overhaul, ditto for the player running loops.
So, im pleased to announce we are getting close to completing the bowling animation overhaul and the new batting strokes. I have added a couple of renders of the new running loop in the gallery so hop over and have a look.
Once it is all completed we will be releasing a new video to showcase all of the work we have been doing.

a new revamped website and my first post in the forum. its like starting all over again lol.
2008 was a very poor year in terms of progress. except for the new player models, nothing concrete and major happened; but since the new year, things have picked up really quickly and we’ve made some crazy progress since.
if everything goes according to the plan…we might be able to release a new
video around the 2nd week of march….and it will have the following things…
1) NEW PLAYER MODELS
2) NEW REFINED ANIMATIONS - much smoother
3) NEW BATTING SHOTS :-
i) Lofted Square drive
ii) Lofted Pull (Spin)
iii) Paddle Sweep
iV) Scoop Shot
v) Baseball Shot
vi) Lofted Slog (Kneeling)
vii) Leave Ball
viii) Duck
ix) FF DEFENSIVE BLOCKS (PACE)
x) Over-The-Keeper / Slips Flick
xi) BF DEFENSIVE BLOCKS
4) NEW BOWLING ANIMS :-
i) Fast / Fast Medium Bowler (Generic)
ii) Fast / Fast Medium Bowler (Slingy / Malinga)
iii) Fast / Fast Medium Bowler (Brett Lee)
iv) Medium / Medium Fast (generic)
v) Off Spin (Saqlain Mushtaq)
vi) Off Spin (Chris Gayle)
vii) Leg Spin (Warne)
viii) Leg Spin (Anil Kumble / Afridi Style)
5) LEFT ARM BOWLERS COMING INTO PLAY
6) NEW RUNNING ANIM
7) NEW BOWLER RUN-UP ANIM
and if the vid and the anims turn out to the quality which am picturing in my head
right now….it’ll be the best TAOC vid to be released yet !!!
I am currently working on the bowling animations – in particular the fast bowler run ups. JK is working on refining animations for batting and bowling, as well as adding some new batting strokes. The new batting strokes include the ‘Paddle Sweep’, ‘Baseball style stand and deliver’ and ‘kneeling’ version of the latter. There will also be a flick/lob over the keeper’s head shot. Hand animating is time-consuming but we are doing some great work, hopefully can showcase all this stuff soon.
Once done with the bowling run up stuff I will be focusing my attention back to the wicket keeper bugs and then back to fielding, where there is still a lot of work to do with the AI. JK will be looking at improving/adding animations to wicket keeper/fielders during this time. I truly believe that once we get the core stuff done then the rest is going to move nice and quick.
Don’t forget to check the forums for more updates on the community stadium making efforts – some great work there, very promising stuff.

Just like the game itself, the website for The Art Of Cricket has come on leaps and bounds since it was revealed to the public in late 2005. Over the weekend the latest version was launched, with improvements to our software meaning it is easier to look at what we put up here, as well as being easier to put it there.
Now we would like to remind you who runs TheArtOfCricket.net:
legend_master: the Australian behind the entire game brings you personal updates.
jkartik: the Indian who has been a sensation since joining the team, bringing his own updates. Has created many of the stadiums and animations in game.
whitehornmatt: another Australian, the website’s technician, who is a dab hand at keeping the website innovative.
Skateboarder: the English presence, the way with words brings you the most linguistic updates. Author of the game’s blurb, seen at the top of the homepage.
Hi everyone,
i have added some new screens in the gallery so hop over and have a look. I will be adding more over time, so please enjoy.
I am going to be migrating some older videos to this site, so please bear with me.
